My husband and I were both born and raised in Miami, Florida. We moved here to Sarasota for two reasons. We were looking for a slower paced city to raise our daughter; we were also looking for a place where we can own our breed of dog and not be discriminated against or be forced to put them down due to breed specific laws.
At a very young age I started volunteering at a friend's veterinarian's office. When I was old enough to drive, I started Pet Sitting for family, friends and coworkers. I cannot remember a time when there were not at least 2 or 3 pets in our home, which I had rescued. I usually had a few mice I would rescue from the local pet shop so they would not end up as a "meal". I never had to be reminded to care/clean up after my pets; I looked forward to it! It was then I realized my love for our furry friends, always having a very special connection with them. Since then, I have rescued and cared for many animals large and small. I’ve owned dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits and many farm animals, just to name a few.
I presently own 2 American Pitbull Terriers, Chance, Boo Boo, (a rescue) and a Boston Terrier named Coco. Owning American Pitbull Terriers has made it very difficult for us when we travel. Many kennels turned us away because of our dogs’ breed. When we did kennel them, upon our return our dogs always showed signs of stress (upset stomach, skin problems, etc.) and were completely out of their routines, not to mention, sometimes causing the staff a little additional work.
With my past experiences of having to kennel my pets and seeing the stress it puts on them, us and the kennels, I strongly believe it is best for our pets to stay in their own environment and routines while their owners are away. Our pets are much happier and healthier when left in their own familiar surroundings.
My love and dedication to our Furry Friends has led me to start Pet Sitting/Dog Walking Services full time. You can rest assured your pets will be loved and have my undivided attention while in my care.
I am certified in Pet First Aid,CPR,Senior Pet Care and NAPPS. I am also licensed, insured and have a full background check through Sarasota County Schools.

"I certainly appreciate all of the time and detail you put into caring for my cats while I was away. I knew that they were in great loving hands.
Thanks again so much."

C'mon, Kick it, Kick it, Kick it!
Dear Miss Ileana,
Thank you very much for taking such good care of us while our family was away. We loved seeing you every day and were never afraid because we knew you would be there to visit us soon. Thank you again for loving us and we look forward to you visiting us again soon!
Love,
Charlie and Ursa
Thanks for your excellent service!

Dear A.
I wanted to let you know how pleased B. and I were for the conscientious pet care Ileana provided Snoops while we were away in Oregon. Ileana kept in touch with us throughout our absence to reassure us of Snoops' well being. When I returned, many nearby SNF residents commented on the amount of time Ileana spent with Snoops on each of her visits. There were NO short cuts in the care provided.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Friends Fur-Ever services to others.

Mia, my very special friend, who's pawprints will forever be in my heart.
Mia was rescued by Florida Boxer Rescue and was very thin & near death. Through the hard work of FBR and her foster mom & dad (who kept her because they could not part with her) she lived out the rest of her short life as every one of our pet friends should, chasing lizards, playing with her friends, having her daily walks, which she loved, and being loved by all who met her. Unfortuanately Mia had to be put down due to complications resulting from her past neglect. I only knew her for a short time but the paw prints she left on my heart will be there forever. I miss you my friend!
If you are considering getting a new furry family member, please do not forget to check your local shelter or breed rescues, where you are sure to find your Furever Friend just as Mia and her mom & dad did.
